Geoffrey Kantaris specializes in in contemporary Latin American urban cinema from Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil, though he has also supervised MPhil and PhD theses on Cuban, Chilean and Venezuelan film. Additionally, he has strong interests in post-dictatorship Argentine cinema, the influence of noir in Latin American film, and in questions of modernity, postmodernity, globalization and popular culture in screen cultures from the region. He has published many articles and book chapters in these areas.
